Now that Facebook allows you to create promotions and contests on the wall of the fan pages without requiring external applications, we thought it best to help you get the most out of this new option. So we’ve created WallPromo, an application that will serve to manage and filter the number of “likes” and comments that might receive in the publication of your competition and to select the winner.

How WallPromo used?

Let’s see step by step what we should do to create a contest on our wall and use WallPromo functionality to manage:

1. Published the post on your wall with the contest or promotion that you want to propose to your fans.

2. Enter Cool Tabs, select the application WallPromo to install and then the first thing then we ask the facebook page where you published your campaign.

3. You choose the post in which you included your campaign and the date until when the data will be collected. You can also select the form of participation in the contest, participation can be measured by likes or comments or both at once.

4. Once you have completed the above steps, your contest on the wall is already managed with WallPromo. If there had been likes or comments before the creation of WallPromo, data would be collected without problem.

What you get with WallPromo?

1. A list of participants: Every ‘Like’ and/or comments made in the post of the campaign will become a participation in the panel data Cool Tabs.
2. Essential data for each participant: Each entry will contain the user name and url of Facebook, since being a contest on the wall, no further information is provided.
3. Update participants anytime: In the list of involvements, you have a button that lets you capture new comments and likes, as the shares are not updated automatically, but on demand, by clicking the button.
4. Voting system for comments: If the comments of the participants have ‘Likes’, they also appear in the report of participation, which can serve as voting to elect a winner.
5. Download the list of participants: The paid version of WallPromo allows you to download a list of participants in .csv.
6. Winner Selection: Choosing the winner will be made in three ways:
   – Manual selection: Writing the name of the winners.
   – Automatic selection: WallPromo make a random drawing among all participants and choose the winner or winners.
   – Selection filters: Based solely on the number of ‘likes’ that has had every comment.
