Think about that promotion you launched exclusively for your customers, where people had to validate a purchase code to enter. How many steps did each lead have to go through? Validating the code to confirm they were a real customer, the prize wheel to capture their data, the CRM to store that contact… and, almost certainly, someone checking codes by hand at some point, because something didn’t quite add up. If any of this sounds familiar, it’s because your campaign is missing a piece: integration between all those tools.
Marketing integrations are no longer something only big agencies or companies with an IT department can pull off. Here we focus on the ones that come into play around your lead capture campaigns (forms, promotions and giveaways) and how to connect them with the rest of your tech infrastructure. Below, we cover why they matter, what types exist, and how to choose the right type of integration for your case. No coding required.

What are marketing integrations, exactly?
When we talk about integrating marketing tools, we don’t just mean two platforms “talking” to each other. When an integration actually works, the data moves on its own. Nobody has to copy anything by hand. The lead who just filled out your form should already show up in your CRM within seconds.
This concept has a name that’s used more and more in the industry: martech stack, or your marketing technology stack. It’s basically the platforms you use every day (CRM, email provider, the tool you build your campaigns with, analytics…) and they need to be able to connect with each other. Some people call this whole practice martech integrations: if your tools aren’t connected, you’ll end up storing data in each one separately, but you won’t be able to relate or analyze it properly.
Types of marketing integrations you should know about
Not all integrations serve the same purpose. We cover the six most common ones, with examples, so you can see which fits your next lead capture campaign.
1. Integration with your registered user system
If your customers already have an account on your website, app or intranet, there’s no point asking them to sign up again just to enter a promotion. With Single Sign-On (SSO) via OpenID Connect, or with an autologin API, your user logs in with the credentials they already have and enters the campaign directly.
Example: that exclusive promotion for customers with purchase code validation we mentioned earlier. If access is connected to your registered user system via SSO login, the customer logs in with the account they already have, without filling in anything extra, and you know exactly who they are from the first second.

2. Integration with your website and apps
Instead of sending people to an external landing page, the campaign lives where your audience already is. It integrates as a responsive widget in any section of your site, as a pop-up, or as a native screen inside your app (via webview, without leaving the app). In all three cases, the design adapts to your brand, so the user doesn’t notice they’ve left your environment.
Example: you embed the prize wheel directly as a widget on your website, or as a screen inside your app, instead of sending customers to an external landing page. Less friction, more participation.
3. Automated data extraction
This is probably the most common integration, and the one that solves the most headaches. Every lead, response or result your campaign generates is automatically sent to the platforms you already use: your CRM (Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho), email marketing tool (Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign), or even your analytics tool (Google Analytics), without anyone having to export a spreadsheet or upload contacts by hand.
A lot of this runs on webhooks: an automatic notification one platform sends to another the moment something happens (a new entry, a code validation, a reward redemption). Instead of your system asking every five minutes “is there anything new?”, the webhook integration alerts it instantly, with the data ready to process. This is where CRM integration and broader marketing automation integrations really pay off. Leads flow straight into your existing workflows without manual handoffs.
Example: a food brand runs a contest to grow its newsletter list. Without integration, someone would have to download the entrants into a spreadsheet and upload them to Mailchimp one by one, risking duplicates. With the integration active (via webhook), the contact lands on the right list, with the right tags, the moment they enter.
4. Real-time code validation
This is the piece that was missing in the prize wheel example. If your campaign asks for a product code or a ticket to enter, that validation needs to happen against your database instantly, not by hand, and not a day later. You can set whether a code is single-use or reusable, and apply anti-fraud rules so no one uses the same code twice.
Example: in your promotion with purchase code validation, each code is checked automatically the moment the customer enters it. If it’s valid, they enter. If it’s already been used, the system blocks it on its own, with no one needing to review it by hand.

5. Connection with your loyalty program
If you have a points or rewards program, you can connect it directly to your campaigns so that entering earns points, or so those points can be redeemed as a prize. Everything is recorded and validated on the spot, without depending on someone logging it manually afterward.
Example: that same customer who validates their code and spins the wheel also earns points on their loyalty account just for participating, with no extra steps.
6. Advanced, custom integrations
And then there’s that share of cases that don’t fit any standard connector: an ecommerce brand that wants to validate coupons against its own ERP, a company that wants to use the campaign tool as a full backend for its promotional management. This is where a complete, documented REST API comes in, along with webhook integration for real-time events. It’s the option for teams with technical capacity (in-house or through an agency) who need full control over how data flows.
How to choose the right type of integration for your case
There’s no single correct answer, so here are a few questions to help you decide how to integrate your next lead capture campaign:
- Do your customers already have an account on your site or app? Start with registered-user access (SSO or autologin).
- Do you want the campaign to live inside your site or app, without leaving it? Use widgets, pop-ups or webviews.
- Is your priority getting leads straight into your CRM or email marketing tool? Look for a native integration with the platform you already use.
- Does your campaign require validating a code, ticket or invoice? You need real-time validation, with anti-fraud rules if needed.
- Do you want entering to earn points or rewards? Connect it to your loyalty program.
- Is your case very specific and doesn’t fit any of the above? That’s where a custom REST API and webhooks come in.
The interesting part is that these options aren’t mutually exclusive. A well-built campaign usually combines several: registered-user access, automatic extraction to your CRM, and real-time code validation, all at once. And that’s exactly what Cool Tabs offers, the ability to combine all these integrations in a single campaign.
Your omnichannel strategy runs through integrating your stack
Every lead capture campaign you launch is, in reality, the entry point to your whole tech stack. If that entry point isn’t properly connected, the lead stalls there. It doesn’t reach your CRM, doesn’t enter your email marketing flow, doesn’t earn points in your loyalty program, and so on. And without that automatic journey, there’s no real omnichannel experience, no matter how many channels you use to promote the campaign.
The digital marketing industry is moving in that direction: campaigns that are no longer isolated touchpoints, but the first piece of a connected ecosystem where the lead flows on its own between your tools. Marketing integrations stop being a technical extra and become the foundation of your omnichannel strategy.
At Cool Tabs, we offer more than 20 native integrations with platforms like Salesforce, HubSpot, Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, Pipedrive and Zapier, plus a complete REST API, real-time webhooks, and SSO via OpenID Connect, so you can connect your campaigns to the rest of your stack without depending on a development team.
